Castle tickets
Neuschwanstein is visited on a guided tour with a fixed time; tickets are sold by the ticket centre in Hohenschwangau and online and often sell out in summer. Plan the drive around your slot and allow 30–40 minutes from the village up to the castle.
When the car is worth it
For 3–7 people, with children, or to add the Wieskirche, Linderhof or Oberammergau on the same day. For one or two travellers the Bayern-Ticket is far cheaper.
